After Netanyahu’s scandals in a series of corruption cases, this time his wife has been officially charged with fraud catered meals and questioned by police in corruption investigation.

The Justice Ministry said that Israeli Prime Minister’s wife, Sara Netanyahu, was alleged for misusing over $100,000 (£76,000) of public money in ordering meals to their official residence from outside caterers. Nevertheless, she falsely claimed that there were no cooks on the staff.

Before that, she was accused of hiring a nurse to protect her elderly father that was paid by the state. Furthermore, she was suspected of abusing her position over these years, and has been repeatedly accused of mistreatment by staff and servants of the prime ministry.

Sara Netanyahu denies any wrongdoing while a former deputy director of the prime minister’s residence has also been charged in the case.

Benjamin Netanyahu, who is involved in some corruption investigations, has denied all these allegations and denounced the investigations as nothing but a media witch-hunt.

It is worth to note that he has been embroiled in a series of corruption investigations too.

In his last case, Netanyahu has been questioned by police over his alleged involvement in a corruption scandal known as Case 4000 which cleared that Walla, a news website, gave Netanyahu’s government favorable coverage in return for regulatory benefits.

The other two investigations involve the acceptance of gifts from wealthy supporters and bribery.

Regarding all these scandals without trial, it seems unlikely the latest case could cause any damage to this family. However, if the sentence is to be executed, she could face up five years in jail.
