Jerusalem, one of the oldest cities in the world, has been considered a Holy City in the three major religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. However, there has been a lengthy conflict over it. Known as the capital of Palestine, it witnessed so many deaths and killings in past years.

The war between Palestine and Israel over Jerusalem began in the mid-20th century. After so many years, the occupant Israel is forcing its troops inside the remaining parts of Palestine inhabited by Palestinians. Gaining power from imperious countries such as US and UK, it continues to engross more lands of Palestinians who have lived in the region over the centuries.

In the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Palestinian Declaration of Independence of 1988, Jerusalem is called the capital of the State of Palestine. The majority of United Nations (UN) member state and most international organizations also recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

United States’ intervention and supports caused so many irreparable sabotages in Jerusalem. UK’s financial and military supports has also fired up the war and increased the casualties over past years, which has been condemned by so many countries.

The exact number of the victims in Palestine is extremely difficult to be found. So many civilians including men, women, and children have been killed since the outbreak of war in 1948.

The war and the massacre occurred in Jerusalem by Israel has been condemned so many times by the U.N. General Assembly. According to them, Israel’s settlement activity constitutes a “flagrant violation” of international law and has “no legal validity”.  The fear and the insecurity that Israel spread across the region has been also condemned by so many countries too.
