Although the increase in knife crimes has been warned for numerous times by the London Mayor Sadiq Khan and other authorities, nothing was done by Theresa May since then. Once more, Manchester witnessed stabbing on its streets in broad daylight.
Following the recent insecurities in London, Sadiq Khan declared more efforts are needed to combat rising violent crime. He also added that the number of stabbings has increased in London which concerned both people and authorities.
A man in his twenties was found dead in the street in a residential region. The police managed to arrest one of the four man who are suspicion of murder. The police declared that the attack happened in Waterloo Street, Oldham. When they arrived to the scene the victim was on the ground, unconscious and not breathing.
They took the man to the hospital but unfortunately he died later around 3.20pm. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Nicky Porter said: “Although the investigation is making good progress, it remains in its early stages.”
“I appeal to anyone who may have witnessed what happened yesterday or who has any information to contact us,” he continued. He also added: “My foremost thoughts are with the family who have suffered this tragedy and they continue to be support by specially trained officers.”
The scene in which the victim was found has been surrounded by a police cordon in Waterloo Street. The police informed the victim’s next-of-kin about the incident but they didn’t reveal his identity.
