With the increases in UK’s social problems, another issue to be concerned about is the number of potential pedophiles. Surprisingly, it equals the number of terrorist suspects. According to the police chief, there are more than 20,000 British men who are “interested” in sexually abusing children.
The UK’s national police chief warned the increasing number of pedophiles, is becoming worrying. He has compared the data to the number of suspects posing a terrorist threat.
According to the investigations conducted by Simon Bailey, the National Police Chiefs’ Council, there are more than 4,000 men who have been identified as active users of a single online chatroom. Nevertheless, the number of men interested in sexually abusing children, is much more.

Simon Bailey revealed a shocking number of 72,000 referrals of online child sexual abuse, received by the National Crime Agency in the first 11 months of 2017. Showing his concerns, he bided school training of the dangers of sexual abuse.
“We need the same warnings about sexual abuse in schools, in the same way as we do for terrorism,” Bailey declared. He emphasized that the threat “does not recognize social status.” It can also happen to a “very caring” and “educated parents who think they are internet-savvy”.

“Technology has afforded an access to children that people who have a sexual interest in children never had before,” he warned about the children use of such platforms as Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. “There are hundreds of officers tackling this now… Thousands and thousands still would not be enough,” he continued.
