US Withdraws the Human Rights Council in Support of Israeli Crimes in Palestine

The US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced that US withdraws from UN Human Rights Council, because they think the organization is a protector of human rights abusers and not worthy of its name.

She added that this decision doesn’t mean ignoring the US commitment to human right, but harshly accusing the 47-member as biased against the Tel Aviv regime which is not motivated by human rights.

And then, she said for too long the Human Right Council has elected the human rights abusers who are seeking a seat on the UNHRC to be safe from scrutiny and resist against proposals for reform.

She said, in the past year countries such as Russia, China, Cuba, and Egypt attempted to undermine our efforts to strongly pursue Council reform. In addition, Haley called the Geneva-based council as “a hypocritical and self-serving organization that makes a mockery of human rights.”

UN human rights chief Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein mentioned that 1.9 million in Gaza “caged in a toxic slum from birth to death” has shown that Israel has deprived Palestinians of their human rights.

But the US administration has pushed the UNHRC to end its scrutiny of Israel’s widespread human rights abuses against Palestinians. Ms Haley declared that the United States would be happy to rejoin only if the council does reform.
